Bar Rodin is a new bar in the city of Antwerp. The bar is located in an old management house of the school next door. They created a very cosy setting in a characteristic building and added Martin Audio CDD speakers for a great quality of sound.

Bar Rodin is a new project of 5 voor 12 vzw, the brains behind Petrol, 10 Days Off, Piaf… Bar Rodin is meant to be a bar for the alternative 30+’er. 5 voor 12 vzw is very satisfied of Martin Audio products, which are used in the other projects too. While selecting speakers for Bar Rodin there’s no doubt they chose for Martin Audio again. They chose for four CDD8, one CSX212 and a Powersoft M50Q DSP.

The Martin Audio CDD8 is an ultra-compact two-way passive loudspeaker system with an integrated 8” LF/1” exit HF Coaxial Differential Dispersion driver which can be easily rotated for horizontal or vertical orientation depending on venue design requirements. Its small size gives no indication of its high output capability.

The Martin Audio CSX212 is designed to be used with CDD Series full-range systems from the CDD5 to the CDD12 and extends the low frequency operating range of the combined system down to 40Hz. With twin high-efficiency 12" /3" voice coil long-throw bass drivers and optimally-sized reflex ports to minimise air noise, the CSX212 is the perfect sub-bass where low frequency extension and impact is required from a very compact, unobtrusive, low-profile enclosure.

With 5,000 W across four channels in a single rack space unit, the Powersoft M50Q DSP is equally versatile in touring and permanently installed racks. Legendary sound quality deriving from Powersoft's patented technologies, and outstandingly high efficiency are making the M50Q the leader in its class. The M50Q HDSP+ETH version provides on-board DSP and Ethernet interfaces. The high-performance DSP is hidden inside and safe against accidental or intentional tampering; monitoring and amplifier settings can be done via Armonía Pro Audio Suite™.

The installation will be used for background music and little parties. Jeroen Willems, Account Manager Audio at FACE: “The CDD-range is especially build for fixed installations and the loudspeakers can be subtle placed. Because of the coaxial differential dispersion, there’s a great dispersion for Bar Rodin.”

With the free Armonia software, all DSP-amplifiers can be configured. It’s an easy and clear software. The software has an enhanced set of parameters available to optimise the sound system: EQ, delay, level, phase, RMS limiter, peak limiter…
